The Regional Government in the New Province of Papua Will Be Formed Soon
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID , JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD said that the Indonesian House of Representatives had passed the New Autonomous Region (DOB) law in Papua for three new provinces, namely Central Papua, South Papua and Papua Mountains. According to Mahfud, the state's current task is to prepare the government there. According to him, the government in the near future will also immediately prepare legal instruments for the inclusion of people's representatives in the DPRD and DPD. Mahfud added that currently there are 37 provinces in Indonesia. Mahfud emphasized that the Government is formulating a legal umbrella to determine government officials in the three regions.
